Technical Note: A fast and monolithic prototype clinical proton radiography system optimized for pencil beam scanning. Accepted for publication in Medical Physics, December 2020.
We have developed a prototype clinical proton radiography system for pretreatment imaging in proton radiation therapy. We have optimized the system for use with pencil beam scanning systems and have achieved a reduction of size and complexity compared to previous designs.

Pursuing protons for medical imaging
A new kind of detector technology that could lead to discoveries in particle physics may also lead to better 3D images of the human body and help cancer patients.
Key Benefits For You
Drastical reduction of uncertanty margin
Lower dose to the patient
Metallic implants imaging
Our Product
The ProtonVDA pRAD System is a proton imaging system that uses tracking detectors to measure the transverse position of individual protons before and after the patient, and a residual range detector to determine the proton energy absorbed within the patient.
Our technology
Proton imaging is the revolutionary component: The use of direct measurements of individual patient-specific proton ranges to achieve the full potential of proton therapy to precisely target tumors.
